where it all started
Heather's career as a sought after executive process designer, coach, multi level territory manager improving teams to the top 2% within the Fortune 100 bank she worked for for over 15 years, Heather was ready to take her passion for people and having FUN in the workplace to a whole new level.
Realizing that life doesn't have to be about working just one job or career, she created her consulting firm focused on improving the all around performance and associate morale within companies of all sizes, as well as increasing the JOY that each individual person experiences during their work day.
Once her consulting firm was established Heather decided to create a fun playful business as well.
When she looked back at the moments in her life that had brought her the most joy to pull inspiration from, she remembered how much fun she had working her very first “job” at her childhood friend’s mother’s shave ice stand within Portland’s Grant Park from middle school into high school.
Starting at just 14 years old, she and her childhood best friend would get dropped at Grant park for a full day of selling shave ice to the local park visitors before being picked up at dark to prepare for another day of selling shave ice by filling water buckets, , mixing flavors, and having a BLAST doing it all.
It was important to Heather to bring back the authentic flavors and style to stay in line with the nostalgic 90s theme, as well as sourcing green and organic products whenever available for an updated environmentally friendly addition.
Her love for authentic shave ice and the 90s, combined with her passion for interacting and serving the community, made the decision to open a 90s themed shave ice, treats, and beats trailer as easy as Zack and Kelly falling in love. With that, Nice Ice Baby Shave Ice was born, with the purpose of serving Authentic Hawaiian Shaved Ice (shave ice...), to the tune of 90s songs (including R&B, Rap, and more!).
Nice Ice Baby, in Bend and the surrounding areas, proves that it is never too late to follow your passions! Choosing to chase joy instead of working herself to the bone in a corporate job changed her life to one she never imagined possible.
Life is short. Do what you love. And do it with 90s hip hop and R&B playing in the background.
